The Gospel is central to all of life. If life is to be lived, it is to be wrapped up in the person and work of Jesus Christ. For his church there exists no other source that can provide for his people what they need and what will sustain them. Jesus, having offered himself up as a spotless sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins, now offers life to the lifeless. The dead are raised to life in him. Just as the vine supplies all that the branch needs in order to survive and bear fruit, so Jesus graciously supplies sinners with all that is necessary to bring us near to God. He is sufficient. To know life is to know him and make him known.
